Siamo giunti anche quest’anno alla pausa estiva dell’Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, pausa che pone  fine alle attività agonistiche per quasi due mesi con un intenso e afoso weekend di gare condito come sempre da svariate categorie.

We have come once again to the summer break of the dell’Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, break that brings the end to the racing activities for almost two months with an intense and sultry racing weekend spiced as always with many categories.

L’evento principale è stato il quinto round della Coppa Italia che, nonostante l’esiguo numero di partecipanti, ha comunque garantito il livello competitivo a cui l’Autodromo ci ha abituati, con la prima divisione in cui si sono sfidate la Lamborghini Gallardo Supertrofeo del team Composit

The main event was the fifth round of the Coppa Italia that, despite a very low number of entrants, has however ensured the competitive level to which we are used to by the Autodromo, with the first division where the Lamborghini Gallardo Supertrofeo of the team Composit

e con la seconda divisione, un po’ più diversificata e ampia, dove le BMW hanno corso contro Seat Leon Supercopa,

Il Clio Cup Italia, alla sua terza tappa stagionale, come al solito si è confermato uno dei campionati monomarca più vivaci e appassionanti con azioni al limite, sportellate

The Clio Cup Italia, to its third round of the season, have confirmed as usual to be one of the most enthralling single make championships with actions to the limit, door-to-door fights 

e qualche impatto fin troppo deciso per le piccole Renault che non hanno però certo fatto staccare il piede dall’acceleratore ai piloti, anzi!

and some heavy contacts for the small Renaults which however didn’t let the drivers took off their foot from the throttle!

In questo weekend caratterizzato da un caldo impietoso non poteva certo mancare una categoria relativa alle ruote scoperte! In questo caso era quella delle Formula Renault 2.0 Alps in cui i piloti, guidando in maniera un po’ troppo spericolata, hanno coinvolto gli spettatori con sorpassi millimetrici, inserimenti in curva al limite e con diversi incidenti per fortuna senza gravi conseguenze per i giovani piloti.

The weekend, characterized by a merciless hot weather, would not have been complete without a single seater category! In this case it was the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps where some drivers, driving a little bit over the limit, have entertained the spectators with millimetric overtakes and with some crashes, luckily without serious injuries for the young drivers.

Per ultimo ma indubbiamente non per importanza, soprattutto per noi, il Campionato Italiano Autostoriche dominato dal trio composto dalla Porsche 930 Turbo di Massimo Guerra

Last but not least, especially for us, the Campionato Italiano Autostoriche dominated by the trio composed by the Porsche 930 Turbo of Massimo Guerra

seguita dalla splendida Lancia Beta Montecarlo di Fabio e Alain Valle

followed by the gorgeous Lancia Beta Montecarlo of Fabio and Alain Valle

e dalla Porsche 935 Turbo dei fratelli Sordi.

and by the Porsche 935 Turbo of the Sordi brothers.

A seguire i tre di testa, numerose Porsche 911 e la Renault R5 Turbo di Rossano Gritti che ha regalato ai fortunati presenti parecchie fiammate dallo scarico in scalata e brividi a ogni passaggio.

Following the first three cars, many Porsches 911 and the Renault R5 Turbo of Rossano Gritti which gave to the lucky spectators many flames from the exhaust while downshifting and shivers each and every lap.

Interessante anche il raggruppamento del medesimo campionato relativo alle cilindrate fino a 1.600cc. dove la stupenda Ford Escort Mk1 di Piero e Gisberto Corazzari  ha stabilito il passo di gara, tallonata dalla Lotus Elan, sempre condotta da Massimo Guerra e Denny Zardo,

Quite interesting also the category of the same championship dedicated to the cars with the engine below 1.600cc. where the beautiful Ford Escort Mk1 fo Piero and Gisberto Corazzari has set the pace, closely followed by the Lotus Elan, driven by Massimo Guerra and Denny Zardo,

seguita a sua volta dalla Lotus Europa di Alberto Mondinelli,

and in its turn by the Lotus Europa of Alberto Mondinelli,

dalla BMW 2002 TI di Giancarlo Barbaro

Meno competitive ma sicuramente particolari, chiudevano la classifica un Maggiolino Volkswagen e una Simca Rally.

Closing the ranking, a less competitive but definitely special Volkswagen Beetle and a Simca Rally.

Un fine settimana condito dalle più diverse categorie che ci lascia però un po’ di amaro in bocca a causa dei pochi partecipanti e dove probabilmente un taglio di categorie sarebbe sempre più necessario. Con gli eventi in pista dell’Autodromo ci rivediamo a Settembre, dove sicuramente lo spettacolo e la qualità non mancheranno.

A weekend composed by the most different categories that leave us a bit of bitter taste in the mouth because of the few entrants and where a cut in the categories would be a better option if not needed. We will see each other again with the events on the race track of the Autodromo in September, when for sure there won’t be a lack of show and quality.
