L’emozione di tornare in mezzo alle montagne a vedere un rally con macchine storiche e moderne è sempre intensa. L’attesa tra il passaggio di una macchina e l’altra immersi nel silenzio e nel verde, il freddo intenso dell’inverno che ti penetra nelle ossa e poi ad un tratto inizi a sentire avvicinarsi le auto.

The emotion of coming back in the middle of the mountains to see a rally with historic and modern cars is always intense. The wait between the passages of the cars dipped in the silence and the green, the intense cold of the winter that get into your bones and then suddenly you start to hear the cars approaching.

Firstly the historic ones, with their roaring carbs and the savage heel&toe’s while entering the corners

poi le moderne, con i cambi sequenziali che buttano dentro le marce con velocità e precisione e i motori tirati fino al limitatore. Questo è rally e questo è stato il nostro weekend al 3° Driver Rally Show/4° Coppa Arena Historic nel Veronese.

Arrivati a San Bonifacio ci siamo imbattuti subito nel primo riordino, occasione da non perdere per vedere da vicino le auto e gli equipaggi in gara.

Arrived at San Bonifacio we firstly stumbled on the first regroup, a not to be missed occasion to take a close look to the cars and the teams.

E’ un po’ come stare nel paddock di un tracciato, con la grande differenza che l’ambiente è molto più rilassato, i passanti si fermano incuriositi ad ammirare le vetture e a fare domande ai piloti e soprattutto che non si pagano biglietti di ingresso! E’ tutto lì, alla portata di qualsiasi appassionato o semplice curioso.

It’s a bit like staying in the paddock of a racing track, with the big difference that there is a very relaxed feeling, the people walking by stop curious to take a look at the cars and to ask some question to the drivers and especially you don’t have to pay an admission ticket! It’s all there, within range of every enthusiast or simple curious.

Dopo aver esaminato per bene tutte le auto ci siamo spostati verso la PS “Cà del Diaolo”. Abbiamo trovato subito una buona postazione dalla quale siamo riusciti a fotografare le auto in uscita di curva, giusto prima della fine della prova. Qui le auto passavano veramente a fuoco, con i piloti che rimanevano sul pedale dell’acceleratore a fondo corsa e con l’erba a bordo strada che sembrava essere travolta da un F-18!

After a deep examination of all the cars we moved to the SS “Cà del Diaolo”. We quickly found a good place from where we’ve been able to shoot the cars coming out from the corner, just before the finish line. Here the cars were really flying, with the drivers pushing hard on the throttle pedal and with the grass at the side of road that seemed to be blowed away from an F-18!

Ovviamente le piccole storiche come le A112 Abarth non arrivavano a velocità folli, ma vederle passare a gas spalancato anche in curva è sempre divertente.

Of course the small historic cars ike the A112 Abarth didn’t pass with crazy speed, but looking at them taking the bends with the accelerator on the floor pan is always a lot funny.

C’è chi si è presentato all’evento come solo un Top Team può fare, con tanto di elicottero per le riprese aeree! Quelli di Rally Planet fanno sempre le cose in grande!

There’s someone who came at the event like only a Top Team can do, with an helicopter for the aerial footage! The guys from Rally Planet, they always do things big!

Tra le bellezze moderne, oltre alla Clio Maxi c’era anche la 306 Maxi della Top Rally, auto dall’aspetto decisamente minaccioso e brutale nello scaricare i cavalli a terra.

Among the modern beauties, a part from the Clio Maxi, there was also the 306 Maxi of the Top Rally Team, a definitely menacing car, brutal while throwing all the horsepowers on the ground.

Alla fine del primo passaggio ci siamo spostati, cercando un passaggio suggestivo e veloce. Direi che abbiamo trovato il posto giusto, con gli equipaggi che ci hanno regalato uno show bellissimo. Le auto uscivano di traverso…

At the end of the fisrt SS we moved on, looking for a fast and suggestive spot. I’d say that we’ve been able to find it, with the teams that gave to us a great show. The cars were coming out sideways from the corner…

…per lanciarsi in una esse veloce con un taglio sullo sporco in interno curva, sollevando polvere e foglie e facendo perdere aderenza specialmente alle auto storiche a trazione posteriore.

…to launch themselves in a fast esse with a cut on the dirt in the internal part of the bend, raising dust and leaves and making losing the traction especially to the historic cars with rear transmission.

Chi aveva l’integrale o la trazione anteriore si gettava letteralmente all’interno del taglio e le foglie alzate erano ancora di più, regalandoci passaggi mozzafiato.

The ones with the AWD or FR layout litterally threw the cars inside the cut and the raised leaves were even more, giving to us some breathtaking passages.

Questo è il risultato di tre PS sul manto strdale, per fortuna le auto da rally sono adatte a questo tipo di abuso!

This is the ending result of three SS on the tarmac, luckily rally cars are suitable for this kind of abuse!
