Di solito quando noi di Hirundo torniamo da un weekend di gare abbiamo a disposizione un numero elevato di foto per creare i report e le gallery ed è proprio a quel punto che arriva una delle parti più complicate, la selezione delle immagini migliori. In questo articolo proveremo a mostrarvi altri momenti vissuti a bordo pista negli ultimi mesi che sarebbero altrimenti rimasti nei nostri archivi.

Usually when we at Hirundo came back from a weekend of races, we have at our disposal a big amount of photos to create the reports and the galleries and it’s at this precise point where it comes one of the most difficult part, the selection of the best images. In this article we will try to show you other moments experienced around the race tracks in the last months that otherwise would have been left stored in our archives.

E’ inevitabile che qualche foto non trovi spazio nei report o nelle gallery e sarebbe un peccato non pubblicare una scena come questa.

It’s inevitable that some photos won’t find their space in the reports or in the galleries and it would be a pity not to publish a scene like this one.

Credo che ogni appassionato possa essere d’accordo con noi nel dire che le auto del passato sono l’essenza dell’automobilismo sportivo vero e proprio, senza TCS, ABS, DSC, ESP, VDC o qualsiasi altra diavoleria elettronica a controllare ciò che i piedi e le mani del pilota trasmettono alla macchina.

I think that every enthusiast will agree with us when we say that old cars are the essence of the proper autosport, without TCS, ABS, DSC, ESP, VDC or any other electrical stuff to control what the feet and hands of the driver have to trasmit to the car.

Dall’altra parte però c’è da dire che proprio quei controlli elettronici hanno permesso lo sviluppo di auto da corsa follemente veloci come la famosa Peugeot 90X, spinta da un motore 3.7 litri V8 HDi FAP Diesel da 550hp.

On the other hands though, we have to say that just those electric controls have allowed the development of crazy fast racing cars like the famous Peugeot 90X, powered by a 3.7 liters V8 HDi FAP Diesel engine producing 550bhp.

Piloti e meccanici sono le persone che stanno dietro al successo o alla disfatta in gara di un team e quando ci è stato possibile, vederli al lavoro da vicino è stata una bellissima esperienza.

Drivers and mechanics are the people behind the success or the failure of a team in a race and when we’ve had a chance to get close to them and see them working it has always been a great experience.

Ovviamente quando si parla di motori è facile parlare anche di amicizia. La scena del drifting ne è un chiaro esempio, con le persone che si riuniscono prima di tutto per divertirsi e passare una giornata in compagnia di chi condivide la passione per i traversi.

Of course when it comes to cars it’s easy to talk about friendship too. The drifting scene is a neat example of it, with the people meeting first of all to have some fun and to spend a good day with someone who share the same passion for drifting.

Le belle donne sono ovviamente un’altro aspetto fondamentale della vita in pista!

Beautiful girls are of course another important part of the life at the race track!

E come non menzionare i giovanissimi talenti delle ruote scoperte? Sempre combattenti e con tanta voglia di vincere, ogni tanto incoscienti ma spesso velocissimi e spettacolari da vedere gareggiare.

And how not to mention the young talents of the open wheelers? Always ready to fight and with great desire to win, sometimes a bit mad but often really quick and spectacular when racing.

A guardare nei nostri archivi ci siamo resi conto che abbiamo immortalato veramente una varietà di auto impressionante e sarebbe impossibile scegliere solo “una” preferita! Sicuramente una categoria che è rimasta ben impressa nelle nostre menti è stata quella delle Can-Am, auto pazzesche che hanno fatto tremare la terra sotto i nostri piedi con i grossi e rumorosi V8.

While looking through our archieves we noticed the we’ve immortalized a really huge variety of cars and it would be pretty impossible to pick just “one” favourite car! For sure, one the categories that is still well impressed in our minds is the Can-Am, crazy cars that did shaking the ground under our feet with the big and loud V8s.

Le Formula 1 poi… che dire… storiche o moderne, è sempre un’esperienza assurda vedere sfrecciare a pochi metri di distanza questi missili su ruote. I timpani iniziano a fare male dopo poco e i brividi lungo la schiena sono talmente intensi che fanno anche sbagliare delle foto.

And the Formula 1 cars… what to say… historic or modern, it doesn’t matter, it’s always an amazing experience to see these rockets on wheels speeding at just a few meters of distance. The eardrums start to hurting soon and after a few moments the shivers going up the spine are so intense that make also taking some wrong photos.

I sound del motore Cosworth V10 della Jaguar R5 e del V10 Renault della Benetton B197 sono qualcosa di indescrivibile, ti muovono letteralmente gli organi interni!

The sounds of the Cosworth V10 engine of the Jaguar R5 and the Renault V10 of the Benetton B197 are something indescribable, they literally shake the internal organs!

Guardare di nuovo le vecchie immagini è stato veramente piacevole per noi e speriamo possa esserlo anche per voi.

Looking again our old images has been a real pleasure for us and we hope that could be nice for all of you too.

Pochi mesi sono passati, ma tanti chilometri sono stati fatti, tante auto, persone e scenari sono passati attraverso le nostre lenti.

It’s been just a few months, but a lot of kilometers have been done, many cars, people and landscapes have passed through our lenses.
