Prologo dell’Endurance Challenge 2012, Autodromo di Franciacorta. L’evento in questione è “Le 6 ore di Franciacorta Autostoriche”. Tutto sembra un’ottima base di partenza per un fantastico weekend di gare tra miti del passato. Peccato che il weekend è partito nel peggiore dei modi, con tanta nebbia, tanto freddo e pochi partecipanti. Nonostante la dichiarazione di sessanta iscritti da parte della direzione, gli equipaggi presenti erano all’incirca 1/3.

Prologue of the Endurance Challenge 2012, Autodromo di Franciacorta. The event is “Le 6 ore di Franciacorta Autostoriche”. Everything seems a good starting point for a fantastic weekend of races between miths of the past. Unfortunately the weekend started in the worst way, with a lot of fog, a lot of cold and just a few entrants. Despite the announce of 60ish entrants, there were only 1/3 of them.

La Balletti Motorsport si è invece presentata con una leggera e vivace BMW 2002 tii

Fin dal Venerdì i meccanici hanno sudato per ottimizzare il setup del 911, rendendo l’auto sempre più veloce e adatta alle pessime condizioni della pista fredda e scivolosa.

Since Friday the mechanics sweated to optimize the setup of the 911, making the car faster and really efficient on the cold and slippery track.

Chi è riuscito a dare battaglia alla RSR della Balletti è stata la Porsche 911 Carrera RS guidata da Zanoni e Cappelli, che hanno spinto forte nella fitta nebbia di Domenica.

Fighting with Balletti’s RSR was the Porsche 911 Carrera RS driven by Zanoni and Cappelli, pushing hard in Sunday’s thick fog.

Il 924 è stato schierato dalla KWZ Racing, che ha portato altre due stupende vetture Tedesche, questa BMW 3.0 CS E9

Immancabili le classiche Alfa GTA più o meno preparate per la pista

e con vero piacere abbiamo visto anche questa stupenda Fiat 695 Abarth.

Oltre alle auto da pista c’erano anche dei classici del Rally, leggende comprese. A dare spettacolo con traversi infiniti la BMW M3 E30 Gr.A vincitrice del Tour de Corse del 1987, semplicemente bellissima e brutale.

A part from the racing cars there were also some Rally’s classic, legend included. Making the show with huge sideways the BMW M3 E30 Gr.A winner of the ’87 Tour de Corse, simply beautiful and brutal.

L’unica auto che è riuscita a tener testa alle derapate del Gr.A è stata l’altra BMW E30, che ha contribuito notevolmente ad aumentare il volume di fumo e nebbia che invadeva la pista.

The only car which has been able to compete with the Gr.A’s sideways was the other BMW E30, which helped to grow the volume of smoke and fog on the track.

Questo tipo di prove speciali regala sempre spettacolo e occasioni di vedere scene veramente suggestive.

This kind of special stages always bring a great show and occasions to see some really suggestive scenes.

Nonostante la nebbia (spesso la visibilità era sotto i 100 metri…) e le condizioni della pista difficili, i piloti hanno offerto un bello spettacolo per tutto il weekend, quindi si preannuncia un Endurance Challenge 2012 decisamente interessante e combattuto!

Despite the fog (often the visibility was down under the 100 meters…) and the hard conditions of the race track, the drivers offered a nice show for all the weekend, so it’s going to be a definitely interesting and hard-fought 2012 Endurance Challenge!
