57 GT3, 3 ore di gara e una bella giornata di sole. La Domenica per i petrolhead appassionati di gare endurance è stata fantastica, così come lo è stata la gara inaugurale della stagione 2016 del Blancpain Endurance Series.

57 GT3s, 3 hours of racing and a beautiful sunny day. Sunday was absolutely great for the endurance racing petrolheads, just like it has been for the first race of the 2016 season of the Blancpain Endurance Series.

I dati parlano di 22.000 spettatori nell’arco del weekend, un numero notevole considerando  che in Italia l’appassionato medio non va oltre la Formula 1. Con gli spalti gremiti, alle ore 15:00 il semaforo verde si accende e l’asfalto diventa subito rovente. Quella fantastica sensazione che solo una griglia piena di auto GT ti può dare, paraurti contro paraurti, sorpassi e staccate al limite, la pista che non da mai tregua, la velocità, il rumore (melodia) dei motori. Quest’anno, tra le altre cose, ci sono anche diverse nuove GT3.  488 GT3, la Mercedes AMG GT3, la BMW M6 GT3 e la 991 GT3-R. Ma nuovo non significa per forza vittoria. Nonostante le prestazioni eccellenti di Ferrari e Mercedes in qualifica, in gara è stata un’altra storia. Quel fenomeno Neozelandese che porta il nome di Shane Van Gisbergen, sulla McLaren 650S GT3 #58, insieme ai due compagni di macchina Rob Bell e Come Ledogar, ha dato filo da torcere alla Mercedes AMG #84 della HTP Motorsport guidata da Maximilian Buhk, Dominik Baumann e Jazeman Jafaar, prendendo la testa della corsa nella danza dei pit stop, battagliando per tutta la mezz’ora finale, occupando ogni centimetro disponibile della pista e vincendo di appena 0.341 secondi.
In Pro-Am Cup dominio Ferrari, con la #11 della Kessel  che precede la #53 di AF Corse, auto sulla quale l’ex pilota di F1 Giancarlo Fisichella ha fatto registrare il miglior giro in gara.
Infine in Am Cup la vittoria va alla AKKA ASP con la Mercedes AMG #87 guidata da Jean-Luc Beaubelique, Maurice Ricci e Gilles Vannelet.
Gara di esordio esagerata quella del Blancpain Endurance Series. Se non ne foste ancora convinti date un occhio alle foto qui sotto.

Datas talk about 22.000 fans during the whole weekend, a remarkable number considered that in Italy the average enthusiast doesn’t go more far away than Formula 1. With the grandstands packed, at 3:00 pm o’clock the lights go green and the tarmac becomes very hot. That amazing feeling that only a grid full of GT cars can give you, bumper to bumper, overtakes and braking to the limit, the race track that never gives the time to breath, the speed, the noise (melody) of the engines. This year, among other things, there are also some new GT3 cars. 488 GT3, Mercedes AMG GT3, BMW M6 GT3 and 991 GT3-R. But new does not mean victory. Despite the great performance shown in qualify by Ferrari and Mercedes, during the race it’s a whole different story. That bad ass New Zealander driver which brings the name of Shane Van Gisbergen, on the #58 McLaren 650S GT3, along with the two team mates Rob Bell and Come Ledogar, gave a hard time to the #84 Mercedes AMG of the HTP Motorsport team driven by Maximilian Buhk, Dominik Baumann and Jazeman Jafaar, taking the lead of the race during the pit stop dance, battling for the whole last 30 minutes, using every inch available of the race track and winning by just 0.341 seconds.
Pro-Am Cup was dominated by Ferrari, with the #11 of the Kessel team which precede AF Corse’s #53 488, car on which the former F1 driver Giancarlo Fisichella produced the fastest lap of the race.
Lastly, in the Am Cup the victory goes to the AKKA ASP team with the #87 Mercedes AMG driven by Jean-Luc Beaubelique, Maurice Ricci and Gilles Vannelet.
